Wade Meyer
Born in Ohio before the Civil War, Wade was raised in the saddle.
He left home at 16 for Texas where he drove cattle up the Chisholm
Trail. Wade grew tired of the rigors of the trail and having saved
his money, drifted to Los Angeles where he met Debora Howland.
The pair married in June of 1888. In 1889 Wade met the notorious
"Death Valley Scotty". Wade abandoned his wife and Los Angeles to
work for Scotty.In 1906, when Scotty's tales of millions in gold
from a secret mine in Death Valley failed to pan out, Wade left the
cowboy life and took a job as forman working at the
Montgomery-Shoshone mine in Ryholite, Nevada. Wade has a
penchant for Mexican beer and the senoritas ( but don't let the
"Widow" know)
Michael Brian Wehmeyer was born in Washington. Married for over 31 years to Deborah Wehmeyer
( Widow Meyer). They have 6 grown children and 10 grandchildren. They enjoy working at Scotty's
Castle in Death Valley National Park. and being part of the "Beatty Cowboys".
